I. Science Education Learning LLC. Tutoring Services Agreement
Effective Date of Agreement: The start date that services are rendered.
This Tutoring Services Agreement establishes the terms and conditions under which Science Education Learning, LLC. provides virtual tutoring services to the registered student. When the student is under 18 years of age, the student’s parent or legal guardian enters into this agreement on behalf of the student. By purchasing, scheduling, or participating in tutoring services, the parent/guardian acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Agreement.
Tutoring Services
Science Education Learning, LLC. provides virtual educational tutoring services for K–12 students. Tutoring may include academic instruction, homework assistance, test preparation, study skills, review, and other educational support agreed upon between Science Education Learning, LLC. and client. Tutoring services are educational in nature. Science Education Learning, LLC. does not guarantee any particular grade, test score, academic ranking, admission, promotion, or other specific educational outcome. Student success depends on numerous factors, including attendance, participation, preparation, completion of assignments, effort, and circumstances outside Science Education Learning, LLC. control.
Payment Required in Advance
All tutoring sessions and packages must be paid in full before the scheduled tutoring service is provided, unless Science Education Learning, LLC. expressly agrees otherwise in Science Education Learning, LLC. is not obligated to provide a tutoring session for which payment has not been received. Payment confirms the student's scheduled tutoring appointment and constitutes acceptance of the terms of this agreement.
Refund/Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy
A Client may request a refund/cancellation/rescheduling within three (3) days of the scheduled class, subject to the terms of this agreement. Refund requests must be submitted to the Science Education Learning, LLC. in writing. After the three-day refund period has expired, payments are generally non-refundable except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved by Science Education Learning, LLC. in writing.The Science Education Learning, LLC. reserves the right to determine whether a refund request satisfies the requirements of this policy.
II. Science Education Learning LLC. Student Participation and Responsibility
Student Participation and Responsibility
Tutoring is a collaborative educational service. The tutor provides instruction, guidance, explanations, and reasonable academic support; however, the Student is responsible for actively participating in the learning process.
The Student agrees to:
● Attend scheduled sessions on time.
● Come to each session prepared.
● Participate actively in tutoring activities.
● Complete assigned homework, practice, or other agreed-upon work.
● Make a good-faith effort to understand and apply the material.
● Ask questions when clarification is needed.
● Follow reasonable instructions provided by the tutor.
● Treat the tutor and other participants respectfully.
● Remain engaged during the tutoring session.
Science Education Learning, LLC. cannot reasonably be expected to achieve the full benefit of tutoring services if a Student refuses to participate, does not complete assigned work, repeatedly fails to follow reasonable instructions, or otherwise does not make a good-faith effort.
Camera-On Requirement
Because tutoring is conducted virtually, the Student must have their camera turned on with their face reasonably visible throughout the tutoring session, unless Science Education Learning, LLC. has approved an exception in advance. The camera requirement exists to facilitate communication, engagement, accountability, and effective instruction. If the student refuses or repeatedly fails to comply with the camera requirement without an approved exception, the tutor may terminate the session. A session terminated because of the student's failure to comply with this requirement may be treated as a completed session and may not qualify for a refund.
Reasonable accommodations may be considered when appropriate.
No Recording, Screenshots, or Unauthorized Distribution
Recording of tutoring sessions is strictly prohibited unless the Science Education Learning, LLC. has provided prior written authorization. Neither the student nor the parent/guardian may, without prior written permission:
● Audio-record a tutoring session;
● Video-record a tutoring session;
● Take photographs or screenshots of the tutor or session;
● Screen-record the tutoring platform;
● Reproduce or copy the tutoring session;
● Publish or distribute recordings or images from a session; or
● Share recordings, screenshots, or other session materials with third parties.
This prohibition applies regardless of whether the recording is made through the tutoring platform, computer, telephone, tablet, mobile device, or another device. A violation of this section may result in immediate termination or suspension of tutoring services. Nothing in this section prohibits a recording or other activity that is required to be permitted by applicable law.
Missed Sessions and Late Arrival
Students are expected to attend all scheduled tutoring sessions on time. If a student arrives late, the tutoring session will generally still end at its originally scheduled time unless Science Education Learning, LLC. approve otherwise. If a student fails to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the session may be considered completed and the payment may be forfeited.
Science Education Learning, LLC. is not responsible for missed instructional time resulting from the student's late arrival, failure to attend, technical problems on the student's end, or failure to have the required equipment or internet connection.
Tutor-Student Relationship
Science Education Learning, LLC. provide educational instruction within the scope of the tutoring services purchased. Science Education Learning, LLC. is not acting as the student's parent, guardian, physician, therapist, school administrator, or legal representative. Science Education Learning, LLC. may communicate with the parent/guardian when reasonably necessary regarding the student's tutoring services.
Intellectual Property and Educational Materials
Materials created or provided by Science Education Learning, LLC. for tutoring purposes may be protected by copyright or other intellectual-property laws. Unless expressly authorized in writing, clients may use such materials for the enrolled Student's personal educational purposes only. Clients may not commercially reproduce, resell, distribute, publish, or create derivative materials from Science Education Learning, LLC. tutoring materials without written permission.
Appropriate Conduct
Students and parents/guardians are expected to communicate with Science Education Learning, LLC. personnel respectfully and professionally. Science Education Learning, LLC. does not permit harassment, threats, abusive language, discriminatory conduct, inappropriate sexual conduct, bullying, or other disruptive behavior. Science Education Learning, LLC. may immediately suspend or terminate services when reasonably necessary to protect tutors, students, or other participants.
III. Science Education Learning LLC. Parent/Guardian(s) Responsibility
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
For students under 18, the parent/guardian agrees to reasonably support the student's participation in tutoring. The parent/guardian is responsible for ensuring that the student:
● Has access to a compatible device;
● Has a reliable internet connection;
● Has access to required software or virtual meeting platforms;
● Attends scheduled sessions;
● Has an appropriate and reasonably quiet learning environment;
● Understands and follows the requirements of this agreement; and
● Has completed any necessary schoolwork or preparation requested by the tutor.
Technology and Internet Access
Virtual tutoring requires appropriate technology and internet access. The client is responsible for maintaining the equipment, software, internet connection, and other technology necessary to participate. Science Education Learning, LLC. is not responsible for interruptions caused by the client's device, internet service provider, software, electrical service, or other circumstances outsideScience Education Learning, LLC. reasonable control. Science Education Learning, LLC. may make reasonable efforts to reschedule a session when a significant technical problem attributable to Science Education Learning, LLC. prevents the session from occurring.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Science Education Learning, LLC. will make reasonable efforts to protect information provided by clients and students and will handle personal information in accordance with applicable law and Science Education Learning, LLC. privacy practices. Parents/Guardians should not provide Science Education Learning, LLC. with unnecessary sensitive personal information about the student unless necessary for optimal learning. Science Education Learning, LLC. may communicate with the parent/guardian regarding scheduling, billing, tutoring progress, attendance, and other matters reasonably related to the provision of services. Nothing in this agreement prevents the Science Education Learning, LLC. from making disclosures required by law.
Student Safety
Science Education Learning, LLC. provides educational tutoring services and is not a substitute for parental supervision, counseling, medical care, mental-health services, or emergency services. Parents/Guardians are responsible for the student's safety during virtual tutoring sessions. If Science Education Learning, LLC. becomes aware of circumstances that may require reporting under applicable Virginia or federal law, Science Education Learning, LLC. may take appropriate action as required or permitted by law.
Guarantee of Academic Results
Science Education Learning, LLC. will make reasonable efforts to provide high-quality educational instruction. However,Science Education Learning, LLC. makes no guarantee regarding grades, test scores, academic performance, standardized-test results, school placement, college admission, scholarships, or other educational outcomes. The Parent/Guardian acknowledges that tutoring is one factor among many affecting academic performance.
Termination of Services
Science Education Learning, LLC. may suspend or terminate tutoring services for material violations of this agreement, including but not limited to:
● Nonpayment;
● Repeated failure to attend scheduled sessions;
● Unauthorized recording;
● Repeated failure to comply with the camera requirement;
● Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate conduct;
● Disruption of tutoring sessions; or
● Other conduct that materially interferes with Science Education Learning, LLC’s ability to provide services safely and effectively.
Termination does not automatically create a right to a refund except as provided by this Agreement or applicable law.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Science Education Learning, LLC. shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to tutoring services. Science Education Learning, LLC. is not responsible for academic results, school decisions, testing outcomes, or other results that depend substantially on circumstances outsideScience Education Learning, LLC.’s control. Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive or limit any right, remedy, or liability that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.
